Development of candidate products for additives to be used in oil production fields.
This research line covers the synthesis and evaluation of new candidate products for inhibitors of inorganic scaling, corrosion inhibitors for acidic and saline environments, and inhibitors of organic deposition caused by paraffins and asphaltenes
Development of candidate products for biodiesel additives.
The objective of this research line is to develop multifunctional additives with antioxidant, biocidal, and corrosion-inhibiting properties, allowing for an extended storage time of biodiesel while ensuring the maintenance of its quality.
Development of flame retardant materials.
This research line, innovative in the country, aims to develop polymeric materials and coatings with flame retardant properties that hinder ignition and flame propagation, preventing the occurrence of fires that lead to irreparable human and material losses.
Use of clay as a catalyst in organic reactions
Clay-based catalysts are versatile, cost-effective, and easy to recover and reuse. The group investigates their application in industrial reactions, with a focus on high conversion and selectivity in the target products.
Development of didactic materials and tools aimed at improving the teaching of Chemistry in high school
The objective of LEMAE-IQ/UFRJ is to contribute with didactic resources that facilitate the learning of chemical concepts, especially those concepts that high school students have the most difficulty understanding.
